Permission Granted: By My Own Self!

I've always been a seeker of approval.

As a child, I'd often hesitate before asking a question, fearing that my query might be deemed to chatty unless given permission to speak. Little girls are seen and not heard right. Instead I delved into the unknown worlds offered by books and the television earning the name ' TV Pest'.

This habit carried over into adulthood, where I found myself constantly seeking validation from others, even in matters related to my dreams and aspirations.

It wasn't until a few years ago that I realized the detrimental effects of this mindset. I had the opportunity to purchase a few acres of land at an incredibly affordable price. Excited about the prospect, I sought advice from a respected elder in our community. To my dismay, their response was overwhelmingly negative. They cited various reasons why the investment wasn't a good idea, effectively discouraging me from pursuing it.

Years later, I learned that the information about the land had been passed on to others close to the elder, who had subsequently purchased the property. The missed opportunity was a painful reminder of the importance of trusting my own instincts and not relying solely on the opinions of others.

Through this experience, I discovered the power of self-belief and the importance of seeking counsel rather than validation. Be an encourager, not a validator. If someone seeks your advice, offer wise counsel, but don't try to dissuade them from pursuing their dreams.

Remember, you don't need anyone's permission to be great. Your dreams are your own. Believe in yourself and your abilities, and don't let anyone hold you back.

It's time to create your own net and jump.

Have you ever heard the phrase, "Jump into what you want to do, and eventually a net will appear"? While I agree with the sentiment, I believe a more empowered approach is to create your own net.

Like me, some of us as children, in fact, many of us were taught to seek permission before taking action. This conditioning often carries over into adulthood, leading us to seek validation from others even when it comes to our dreams and aspirations. We become trapped in a cycle of waiting for someone to believe in us, to push us forward, or to give us permission to shine.

This mindset is limiting and counterproductive. It's time to break free from the chains of permission and embrace the power of self-belief.

In going for your dreams demure no more! It's time to step into your power and claim your rightful place in the world. You don't need anyone's permission to be great.

Seeking counsel from those who have walked a similar path is wise. However, seeking validation or permission from anyone but yourself can kill your dream. Remember, your dreams are your own.

Many people also believe they are waiting on God's permission to pursue their goals. While there is a time for everything under the sun, including waiting, it's important to recognize that God has given us the power of choice and dominion.

Consider the story of Adam and Eve. God placed them in the Garden of Eden and gave them free will. They were free to choose their own path, but their choices had consequences. Similarly, God has given us the freedom to choose our own paths, and while He may guide and direct us, ultimately, the decision is ours.

When it's time to move forward, make a move. Don't wait for someone else to give you the green light. Trust your intuition and follow the trajectory born within. Trust God will correct your course as you go.

Remember, you are your own greatest advocate. Seek validation from within, not from others. Believe in yourself and your abilities.

Today, I challenge you to commit to a journey of self-discovery. Let go of the need for permission and embrace the power of your own choices. You are limitless.

  1. Have you ever went to church and feel like the service is directed towards you? As if the pastor can see into your heart and mind? This article felt like that. At the beginning it sounds as if it was personal, a reflective piece. But this author writes directly into my spirit. I think I needed to hear this. I don't need anyone's permission to be great
