The Divine Download: When Your Inner Critic Gets Static

Ever try to have a heart-to-heart with God, only to be bombarded by a mental mosh pit of nonsensical thoughts?

All of a sudden you realize that you’re hungry or a story a girlfriend told you since last week. Sometimes a little self questioning chooses just that moment to distract. Or maybe you're about to do something a little...well, questionable, and suddenly the universe seems to throw you a high five? Like what?!

Yep, been there, sisterhood.

But in the midst of the mental mayhem, there's always that quiet whisper, that gentle nudge that reminds us to hit pause. It's the voice that says, "Peace be still," or maybe a more direct "Young lady, hold up right there. That path leads to a dead end. Not another step."

Unleashing Your Inner You is A Divine Collaboration

Here's the beautiful and often unspoken( untaught) truth: a big chunk of discovering who you truly are involves letting God show you His masterpiece. Think about it. A manufacturer knows their product better than anyone – every strength, every quirk, even the not-so-perfect bits. That's God with you, girl. He sees the dazzling potential( that more than often we miss) and the areas that needs just a little TLC.

The Beauty (and the Beast) Within

Some of us are champions at spotting our flaws, while others wear rose-colored glasses, missing their own blind spots and judging everyone else's imperfections harshly. But guess what? That "weakness" you see in yourself might be your superpower in disguise. And that brag-worthy "strength" could be keeping the truly amazing people at arm's length. Every single one of us beauties, have a beast within. All of us. If you don’t think so, then you either a very young reader or you may need to take off them rose colored glasses. Keeping it as direct as I can so we all know ITS OK! We can’t be perfect even when we try. But there is a way to approach this. Took me a darn long time to figure this out but….

Seeing Through the Divine Lens

Get a glimpse of yourself through God's eyes. My girl THIS brings balance. It helps you appreciate your unique gifts and approach your shortcomings with grace (and maybe a dash of humor). It's like having a soul GPS, guiding you on the incredible adventure of self-discovery. Getting that glimpse changes EVERYTHING!

Here's the Real Challenge (and It's Amazing)

So, how do we do this? How do we tap into this divine perspective? Ditch the pressure of a checklist. Here's the real magic:

  • Carve out quiet time: Find a space where you can truly connect with God, free from distractions.
  • Open your heart: Let down your guard and allow yourself to be vulnerable. My best friend said that by doing this one day whilst looking in the mirror she just asked God to show her herself through His eyes. What a heart transformation she had after that experience!
  • Listen for the whispers: Pay attention to those gentle nudges, the ideas that spark joy, and the quiet knowing in your gut.
  • Trust the journey: Believe that God has a magnificent plan for your life, even when it feels messy.

Finding Your Tribe: Because You're Not Alone

Remember, countless others have walked this path of self-discovery with God. From biblical heroes like Moses and David to modern-day inspirational figures, their stories are testaments to the power of seeking guidance from above.

If you still haven't realized as yet, know this: You are worthy of love, you are worthy of living in purpose, and you are worthy of a life that overflows with joy. As you embark on this beautiful journey, remember the words of Psalm 139:1-2: "You know me, Lord, you see me when I am alone. You know when I am going and coming; you understand my thoughts from afar."

Let go of the pressure to be perfect. Embrace the wild, wonderful you that God created. Trust the whispers, girl, and get ready for the most incredible adventure of your life – a divine collaboration between you and your Heavenly Father.

Love
