Why On Earth Do I Doubt Myself Again?
Finding someone who sees you as a young woman is a treasure.
It’s more than just compliments or affirmations; it’s about having someone who recognizes your potential, your strengths, and even your blind spots. We often know how to navigate the social landscape, but when it comes to charting our career paths or financial futures, our family goals, we can feel lost. It's unwise to share this lost feeling with just any and everyone. This is where mentorship becomes invaluable.
Last night, I had a conversation with one of my mentors that left me questioning why I ever doubted myself. It was a profound reminder of the power of someone believing in you when you're not quite sure yourself.
Remember the story of Mary, Jesus’ mother? At the wedding in Cana, when the wine ran out, the servants panicked. But Mary, with a quiet confidence, knew exactly what to do. She told the servants to do whatever Jesus told them. Jesus, at that point, might not have fully grasped the extent of his power or his purpose or humanly understood His timing. But Mary, with a mother's intuition, saw the bigger picture. She saw and knew his divine potential and somehow she knew His time HAD COME even despite Him not thinking so.
This story echoes a fundamental truth: sometimes, those around us can see our destiny clearer than we do. It's a testament to the importance of surrounding ourselves with people who believe in us.
I was reminded that greatness often requires a period of preparation. Think of the Israelites in the wilderness, Joseph in prison, or even Steve Jobs' early career struggles. These were all seasons of refining, learning, and growth. It's in these quiet, often challenging periods that we're equipped for our purpose.
However, we can inadvertently slow down our progress by resisting lessons or doubting our abilities. It's crucial to embrace each season, no matter how difficult, as an opportunity to learn and grow. Ask yourself, "What am I meant to learn from this?" or "Why am I feeling this way right now?" The answers might surprise you.
So, let's make a pact: no more self-doubt ok? Let's trust in our God-given abilities, be patient with our journey, and learn from every experience, even those experiences you think you should not have had. Remember, someone out there sees your potential. It's time to believe it too.

Not a lot of us have a Mary in our life's so we create one in our minds. We find ways to push and motivated ourselves and others. By reading this I assume its satisfying to have a Mary or two on your support team
ReplyDeleteThat is a truthful point. It's a big reason why I created this blog- especially for those without their ' Marys'. I was one without a mentor for a very long time. I started the habit of just taking a page of example from the lives of persons I looked up to without actually having an actual mentor. Sometimes we have to do that. Most times in fact, not many get the mentorship needed to go to their next level, hence why we'd see less and less people tapping into greatness the higher they get. We can change that :)
