Behind the Smile: Navigating Life's Storms
“Sometimes a smile is just a mask. An antidote to the ragings within your soul of life fighting against your purpose. Against you carving your name in the rock of legacy. Against creating the path in reality that has always existed in your mind. So you smile to not be beaten. You smile so the world knows it has not won. You smile to give a little sunlight to your emotions. Just enough sunlight to not be succumbed by the darkness forcing itself in.” - Lady Ray
As a Limitless Lady, we've all experienced the highs and lows of life's journey. While we often portray a confident and unwavering exterior, the truth is that behind the smile, there can be a tempest raging within. Just like the hot Caribbean sun making everything seems beautiful and
bright, but beneath the surface our personal internal La Soufriere volcano is
brewing a nasty brew.
The pursuit of our dreams can
be met with serious resistance, setbacks, and even outright hostility. This is part of the reason we don’t just share our dreams
with just anyone.
Yet, despite the fight, we press on, driven by an unwavering belief in ourselves and in our
purpose.
I have discovered that authenticity is not
about always presenting a perfect façade like most of us initially are taught. It's
about acknowledging the full spectrum of emotions we experience, and this includes frustration, stress, discomfort, and challenges. It's about being honest with ourselves, even when it's difficult. By identifying these areas, we can take proactive steps to address them and overcome
obstacles, cause knowing is truly half the battle.
Ladies, failure is not an option. I’m saying this as much for you but very much to myself. When faced
with setbacks, it's essential to divert and pivot. Instead of dwelling on closed doors, look for the opportunities that may have opened around you. Embrace change, don’t run from it because it is usually a tool used
to direct us- a catalyst for growth and innovation.
The Bible provides countless scriptures that
offer encouragement and strength in the face of adversity. Proverbs 24:10 says, "If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small." This verse reminds us that perseverance is key, even when circumstances seem overwhelming. Don’t let them win!
Moreover, 1 John 4:4 reminds us, "Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the
world." This powerful verse assures us that the divine power
within us far surpasses any worldly pressure or challenge. So press IN.
Let us continue to push forward, to strive for greatness, and to never let anyone or anything dim our light. We are Limitless Ladies, capable of overcoming any challenge that comes our way.
